Aspiring and planning to move forward in days to come for contributing in shaping the Green Economy initiative of Dubai, UAE, SynergY youth group gathers support from Eco conscious brand like Timberland and continue to plant 55 more trees at Worldwide Auctioneers Ltd compound in Jebel Ali. Last week, SynergY youth group organized a Plant-for–the-Planet Academy at The Address Dubai Marina Hotel and 85 students from across 18 schools of UAE planted 120 trees near a landfill supported by Dubai Municipality. The newly formed Climate Justice Ambassadors by Plant-for-the-Planet, UNEP and SynergY endorse their deeper assurance by this event.
Though Timberland’s commitment to serving the communities where their employees live and work around the world is ongoing throughout the year. The 55 Trees planted is a project initiated by SynergY that finds support on the Earth Day that has long been the marquee service day on the annual calendar of Timberland employees across the globe. Mr. Vishal Bhatia from Sun and Sand Sports mark this as “A day when, we, as Timberland put our values in action by dedicating a day to local service to make a difference.”Vinay Chan, Timberland’s Marketing Manager states “Earth Day sets a stage for us to be the Earth-keepers as GREEN for Timberland is Grassroots, Reduce-Reuse-Recycle, Engagement, Education and Neutral impact on Environment.”
Commenting on the gathering for the morning,Eric Montandon, Chief Executive officer Worldwide Auctioneers Ltd, the generous host said “I am delighted to see so many young students come together on a weekend to plant trees”. WWA’s Middle East Auction centre is a huge 100,000 square meter lot inside the Jebel Ali free Trade Zone.
Simran Vedvyas,the Founder and Chairperson of SynergY and a student herself expresses happiness in seeing members of the civil society come together and support youth & children. Simran also affirms her strong desire to work in partnership to pool resources, efforts and send out reminders to all segments of the community by such events to plant more trees for the benefit of this planet.
